Useless Information

That it comes from the brain or some mechanism in the brain is useless information as far as understanding the mind is concerned.  It gives us nothing we can use to understand the behavior of the guy in front of us or to help him with his life.

And, if it cannot even help us grasp the workings of a single mind, it certainly gives us no bridge to understanding the larger creations of man – his economy, politics, art, philosophy, religion.  Every time I hear someone explain the artistic process as a function of the right brain, I want to throw up.  Perhaps as a metaphor it has some workability, but certainly not as science or as practical knowhow for painting a painting or composing a piece of music.
